Research Methodology & Data Collection

The main form of research that has taken place is through culturing, collecting and archiving of bacteria. A microbiological culture is the method of multiplying microbe organisms by letting them reproduce in predetermined and controlled laboratory conditions.For the purpose of maintaining the microbial culture under control, the medium of medical grade agarose gel (agar) is used. Medical Grade Agar is a gelatinous substance derived from seaweed and contains added nutrients (such as sheep's blood), which helps to promote more vigorous bacterial growth. For best results, I used prepared pre-sterilized petri dishes, with flat-bottoms for maximal surface for harbouring bacteria.
